Lidl with a new store concept
14. Dec 2015The new Lidl store in the immediate vicinity of Maribor's Qlandia shopping center in Tabor has 1,400 square meters of retail space and 134 parking spaces, including two for charging electric cars and some for disabled drivers. The new center will employ 40 people.
Because the facility has a heat pump to use heat from cooling wells, energy consumption and CO2 emissions will be reduced by almost 70 percent.
Even before the official opening of the store, the first customers started to gather about an hour earlier, despite the cold morning. By the time of the opening, when the ribbon was cut by Gregor Kosi, General Manager of Lidl Slovenia, and the Mayor of Maribor Andrej Fištravec, there were already about 500 customers in front of the store.
Larger, brighter stores, with wide aisles and more products. This is Lidl's new concept and the new store in Marbor is the first of its kind in Slovenia.
Less than 4 months passed from the start of work to the opening of the store. All work was performed by VG5.
