Reconstruction of the PC1 Slovenijales facility in Ljubljana
11. Oct 2016As part of the reconstruction, we removed the open staircase that connected the basement, ground floor and first floor, built two new stairwells with a lift, built a new staircase between the basements, an additional freight elevator for the Hofer store, renovated the roof and atria and carried out a comprehensive static and energy rehabilitation of the building.
The building was originally built in the 1970s. The building has an exceptional architectural and structural design, as the entire building stands on eight pillars. The first floor is on a special bar construction, which is hung on the wall beams of the second floor. The second floor consists of high reinforced concrete prestressed beams, which are as high as a whole floor and laid on the basic eight pillars.
The new facility is intended for business, trade, catering and recreation.
On the 1st floor, the premises were finalized for users of the European Parliament and the European Commission. The ground floor, next to the main entrance to the European House, is mostly used for trading activities (Hofer store) and catering (new restaurant).
In the first basement there are rooms of the fitness center, archive and restaurant storage, while the other rooms do not yet have a known user.
The second basement is intended for parking, technical space and storage for the Hofer store.
