Renovation of the "Sugar Refinery Palace" in Rijeka, Croatia

A contract has been signed for the renovation of the old sugar refinery for the client Grad Rijeka.
A construction contract was signed today at the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rijeka for the reconstruction of the so-called Šećerana Palace in the former Rikard Benčič industrial complex. It is a baroque palace, where it will be necessary to comply with all required regulations in the field of cultural heritage protection.
The works will be carried out for 20 months, including fitting-out of the building and relocating the municipal museum, which, in addition to the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, the City Library of Rijeka and Art-Kina Croatia, will be the user of the newly renovated premises.
The total floor area of the building is as much as 6,798.36 m2.
