Signing of the contract for the demolition and construction of the new Jesenice High School

28. May 2025
On Friday, May 23, 2025, the ceremonial signing of the construction contract for the demolition of existing buildings and the construction of a completely new Jesenice High School took place. This is currently the largest state investment in the field of education.

The dilapidated existing building was built in 1949 and added to in 1978. Since the Jesenice High School needed renovation to ensure proper school processes, the project had been long-awaited.

As part of the contract work, we have already begun the extensive demolition of existing buildings. The construction of a school building, a gym with machine shops and a shelter for 500 people with external and communal facilities is planned.

The newly built high school will be attended by an estimated 670 students, 190 adult education participants with an estimated 67 employees in 26 departments.
